During most services, we offer a group for children from 3 and a half to those in year 5. This is so that we help you and the small people you care about get the most out of being at church. You can be assured that all staff are DBS checked and have great material, fun and games planned for the group. As you can tell there is a rather large age gap within the group – however, once we are all in the group together, and we have begun the theme, the children are split into groups with age appropriate activities and discussion. As with all our groups, if it is your first (or millionth) time of visiting us and your little person is not wanting to be left on their own, please do stay if that is needed. We will then make sure that they feel encouraged and safe enabling them to be left when they are ready. As part of the group we do give a drink and a biscuit, and therefore, if they are only allowed water, or have any allergies which will effect our choices and options, please do let one of the leaders know, as we will make sure that there is something for everyone. Who is it for: God Squad is for children who are ages 3 and a half to those in year 5. However, we recognise that all children are different and these age groups might not be appropriate for everyone. Therefore, if you believe that they would be better in another group, please do come and chat to us, and we will help you find the right place for them. We are a family friendly church (we really don’t mind a bit of noise!) so if you would like them to stay in the service with you, that is fine, alternatively, we have a room (The Prayer Lounge) at the back of church with large windows so you can still see, there is also a live sound feed so you can still be part of the service if you are more comfortable doing that. When does it happen: God Squad happens most Sundays, unless the service is an all age. An all age service is designed in such away that there really is something for all ages, and therefore your little one hopefully will be able to join in and enjoy it. However, if you would prefer, the Prayer Lounge at the back of church with its big windows and live sound feed is there for your use too. You can usually find a box of toys in there.
